This staged reading is based on the 1872 novel Carmilla, The Black Cat takes the classic gothic novella and reimagines it, combining elements of 1940s film noir. Laura Le Fanu has been surrounded by crime her entire life, working her way up to lead homicide detective at her precinct in the French Quarter. Her latest case is The Black Cat Killer, who has targeted young women across Baton Rouge and her hometown of New Orleans. During this time, she is partnered with the beautiful and enigmatic Carmen Miller, a young private eye from Ponchatoula. As more victims of the Black Cat begin to increase, Laura begins to suspect her new partner may be connected to the murders and, therefore, threaten her entire world.
